About this campaign

The beloved historic ballet, ORPHAN TRAIN, demonstrates how essential performing is to a young dancer’s development, and how beautifully Covenant Ballet Theatre students respond to that opportunity.

ORPHAN TRAIN marks the first return to the proscenium stage since March 14, 2020. Covenant Ballet has continued to produce new work despite the covid-related challenges of the last few years. In the interim, CBT students, faculty, and guest artists have created innovative performances and productions. As we look ahead to our next chapter, Covenant Ballet is planning the return of beloved classics and the creation of new works, both on traditional proscenium stages and in other, non-conventional performance venues. Since 1987, Covenant Ballet Theatre of Brooklyn has fostered the love of the art of dance through pre-professional training, educational programs, and original dance productions.

Covenant Ballet Theatre (CBT) believes that a serious ballet education is necessary to advance the art form, train youth, and improve the lives of those within its embrace; and that where there is a commitment to the art of dance, there ought to be an equally vigorous commitment to maximum inclusion. In its 35 years, CBT has trained hundreds of students and touched thousands of lives with the love of dance. Students have performed in dozens of original ballet productions conceived and choreographed by Ms. Hirokawa. CBT alumni have gone on to study at the top dance schools in New York and beyond, and they have apprenticed and danced with professional companies. Every student at CBT gains valuable life lessons and character development, while being instilled with a deep appreciation for the art form of dance.
