About this campaign

Our little superhero, August, is the epitome of a true warrior. Since his diagnosis of Anaplastic ependymoma at just 5 1/2 months old, he has shown unwavering resilience in his fight against brain cancer. Early in his healing journey, to show our unwavering support and solidarity, we designed a family t-shirt in the signature grey color for brain cancer awareness, symbolizing our commitment to August's healing journey.

August's story is one of hope and perseverance. In his first year of life, August has already endured multiple brain surgeries, toxic rounds of chemotherapy, and a round of proton therapy. Despite these challenges, August has continued to beat the odds, demonstrating his superhero healing powers & courage, evident when he showed no signs of disease after his first round of proton therapy. In September 2023, despite the devastating news of his brain cancer's return after 3.5 years, August has yet again shown his unbreakable spirit emerging victorious & celebrating the 2024 New Year with the news of no evidence of disease after a second round of proton therapy.

After receiving that fantastic news in January, April's MRI brought new challenges to our little superhero after discovering a new growth at the base of his spinal column. While August's team of doctors in TX is not equipped to provide the means for surgical removal of the growth, August’s parents discovered a team of specialists at Boston Children’s Hospital, who they feel confident in their surgical abilities, expertise, and equipment, to successfully remove the growth.

Together, we can make a difference in August's life as he embarks on this newest challenge in his healing odyssey. You can help our efforts by sporting our superhero shirt or by donating generously to offset his family’s treatment and travel expenses which encompass cross-country travel and possibly a third round of radiation.

We are incredibly grateful for the overwhelming display of support, compassion, positive energies, and prayers from our loved ones as we embark on this challenging journey of healing and wellness for August, and we are deeply moved by the unwavering belief in his ability to overcome this setback and emerge stronger than ever before..

Indeed, he IS #auguststrong! #auguststrongtogether
