Our Logo, Our Story!

The Knick Knack logo means a lot of things to a lot of people. To our founders, it's Skippy, the little dog saved from being put to sleep in Manhattan. Dawn and Wolf adopted him, and he is one of the inspirations behind our rescue and our purpose.



The yin-yang that's incorporated into the logo stands for balance and harmony – but it’s also stands for diversity and differences. We would love to live in a world where human and canines, all animals for that matter, co-exist in harmony. That is one of the core beliefs of our rescue. It's okay to be different though, and pit bulls are the perfect example of that. No two dogs are the same. No two stories are the same. They all come from different backgrounds, with varying degrees of human interaction (whether good or bad). Our rescue, board members, volunteers, and our supporters all unite for one cause: to find them a forever home where they are happy.

Give a Dog a Home. It's not just a play off of the "Knick Knach Patty Whack" rhyme. That's what we do. That's the end goal. We make a promise to every single dog that comes in, that they will find their forever home. Sometimes that's in a great house with a yard, kids, and a big comfy couch. Other times, it's in the safety and sanctuary of Dawn's house, where the dog never has to worry about being anything other than themselves, and can comfortably trust everyone around them.



We can't do this without our followers, supporters... what we've come to call "our village." Have you ever seen someone else wearing the KKPP logo out in public? Do you know that feeling you get? You make a connection that you're part of something bigger than yourself. It's a really good feeling.
