Paws for Peace - North Dakota Shelters/Rescues Helping Ukrainian Pets

Like many people around the world, staff and volunteers at North Dakota’s animal shelters and rescues watch the unfolding news from Ukraine and are shocked and heartbroken. We see the Ukrainian people being attacked and fleeing for their lives. Many photos have surfaced of people taking trains and walking many kilometers to reach safety, including many who are seen carrying their pets with them. They have no idea where they will go, but they know they cannot leave their pets behind. Others are likely forced to leave pets behind as they race to reach safety with their families. We simply cannot imagine living through this atrocity and being forced to make those decisions. We feel we must do something.
