About this campaign
Benton Harbor High School needs your help. The business management class understands that poverty and violence are connected. We want to put an end to both in our community. We will create our own designer label Peace Over Everything. In the meantime, we are asking that you purchase these classic student led designer fundraiser shirts. We will donate a percentage of these profits to the Safe Shelter for Domestic Violence victims. These are classics. They are the first and only of their kind. With your help, the next shirts will be from our very own student store!
In 2013, a collection of Business Management students from Benton Harbor High School agreed that they were tired of violence and bullying both at the end of the school year and within the community. Though war is a longtime worldwide problem, the students decided to focus on campaigning for peace as the solution. What started as a simple service learning project, resulted in an inexplicable synergy that spearheaded Peace Day. Peace Day is now officially observed by the City of Benton Harbor on the last day of school. Since then, the students have rallied the support of the school staff, students, the State of Michigan, local politicians, clergy and community members. The school has now expanded Peace Day to an entire season of peace. The students hope to use peace events, POE gear and other products to expand Peace Day into an international cultural holiday that will inspire peace and prosperity. The reason I am supporting this peace event is because, I think the peace is really needed in the world.
I am supporting this peace movement because I feel it is a great opportunity to bring peace to our community and change the past reputation of Benton Harbor.
