Pediatric Kidney Donation Tee

Marah’s medical journey started with a cancer diagnosis in January of 2022. She quickly dominated the chemotherapy and kicked cancer’s booty! However, toward the end of her treatment we learned that Marah’s medical journey was far from over. In May of 2022 Marah had both of her kidneys removed and began to rely on dialysis. She has had to rely on dialysis and continue to do so until she has a kidney transplant. Due to the cancer she has to wait until June 20, 2024, also known as two years post chemotherapy to activate on the transplant list. While this seemed to be such a long wait when we were first told, we are almost there! One of the most eye opening lessons I have learned while walking with my daughter through this journey is just how little is known about pediatric kidney donation. Marah’s need for a kidney and the overwhelming aspects of reliance on dialysis has sparked a desire to spread awareness for her and other children.
