About this campaign

Post Traumatic Stress Disorder affects so many military veterans and police officers alike. Officer Kate Walsh battled it for almost 7 years before it unfortunately took her from us. More people need to know about this and just how serious it is. There are several programs available to assist military vets with PTSD, but very few, if any, to assist police officers; therefore, all proceeds will go toward building a program here in Central Florida to assist police officers struggling with PTSD.

In 2008, Officer Kate Walsh, assigned to Investigations at the time, was working on a case involving severe child abuse to a 16-month old girl. Kate worked tirelessly to remove the child from the home, and her work proved successful. After a short time, custody was awarded back to the family, and within two weeks, the child was dead...found severely beaten, bruised, and sexually assaulted.  The impact on Kate was so traumatic. This was the beginning of her 7 year bout with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder.
