About this campaign

This booster is to raise money where a team of amazing DeafBlind consultants from ProTactile Connects can provide ProTactile (PT) workshops/trainings and related PT events for the community especially for the DeafBlind community.

ProTactile is a socio-cultural philosophy that reflects the DeafBlind world, which includes language (ProTactile American Sign Language), the DeafBlind culture, and their community. There is a strong need to gain awareness and access to ProTactile for the DeafBlind community. In orderto raise awareness and access, we must reach out to the DeafBlind community. We will do this through PT workshops, trainings, and PT social events. The money raised will cover for the team's travel funds, room and board, materials, qualified PT assistants/interpreters, maintain PT Connects website, and media coverage.

I work as a post secondary sign language interpreter and there are requests for Protractile interpreting services on my campus. We have had some training on the practice as well as Deafblindhood and I am happy to support awareness and funding!
