This is a link for more information on the type of tumor that Rachel has been diagnosed with. Ependymoma is a rare brain tumor, and there is still a long way to go in advancing research, treatment options, and long‑term outcomes for patients facing this diagnosis.

Rachel was first diagnosed with a brain tumor in the summer of 2025 and bravely underwent her initial surgical resection. Following her surgery, she was monitored every six months for signs of regrowth. Recently, when familiar symptoms returned, further testing revealed that her tumors had not only come back but had grown in many areas throughout her brain.

Her second resection confirmed an aggressive, malignant tumor type known as Ependymoma — a rare form of brain tumor for which more research is urgently needed to improve treatment options and long‑term outcomes. Rachel will soon begin six weeks of radiation, and she will need the strength, love, and support of her family, friends, and community as she faces this next chapter.
