Revolution Power Yoga's Fundraising Campaign

Revolution Power Yoga in Avon and Glenwood Springs is locally owned and operated by long- time local Julie Kiddoo.

Like many stories of Colorado Mountain Resort Locals, Julie moved here in her early 20’s and never looked back. Her love for the mountains and the local communities found within created an immediate sense of belonging. For nearly 30 years, these mountains have been her home and she has raised, along with her husband, two beautiful children and a couple of noteworthy golden retrievers.

How it Began: In the Fall of 2007, Julie lost her father-in-law. While her husband began his own journey of healing, it was time for Julie to take care of herself so she finally took her friend up on a long-standing invitation to go to a yoga class.

This one yoga class, which Julie had been resisting for years, completely changed the course of her life. This class led to a teacher training which led to teaching which led to opening the doors of Revolution Power Yoga Avon in 2012.

“When I made the decision to open Revolution Power Yoga in Avon, Colorado, 10 years ago (Fall, 2011), I had no idea what to expect. What I knew in my heart was I had a calling to deliver this practice to as many people as possible with as minimal a barrier to entry as possible. There are no words to describe what ensued after opening our doors in January of 2012.”

As the Revolution Power Yoga community grew in Avon and Julie’s children approached high school age, Julie’s son made the decision to swim competitively in high school. Julie and her husband supported this decision, knowing that he would be competing for the Glenwood Springs High School 50 minutes away from home.

Glenwood Springs and the Roaring Fork Valley soon became a second home where most of Julie’s son’s closest friends lived. From Aspen to Basalt to Glenwood Springs, no distance seemed too far to visit the families who quickly became some of Julie’s closest friends as well. It did not take long before Revolution Power Yoga Glenwood Springs became a dream and then a reality. Julie wanted to bring the same connection, healing and community she had found through yoga to her newfound community in the Roaring Fork Valley.
