About this campaign

An estimated 100 million sharks are killed each year by shark finning. Shark finning is defined as the amputation and possession of shark fins while the rest of the shark in thrown back into the ocean, left to die. It is a very brutal practice that needs to be stopped.

The whole reason for the slaughtering of millions of sharks is shark fin soup. What was once thought to be a Chinese delicacy has now turned into a way of showing wealth. The soup - which has no nutritional value or any real taste - is popular because it shows that you have the money to afford the soup. There is no reason to consume the soup, which is why people should say no to it.
