About this campaign

Let's help keep this amazing Alaskan gem alive for future generations to share with their children. The Center is an important educational, research oriented aquarium that rescues and rehabilitates countless sea mammals and sea birds each year. Covid-19 has disrupted the amount of visitors coming to Alaska and the Center, and because of this, they are at risk of shutting down permanently. Let's help them out!!!

I grew up in a small town in the middle of Maine. I didn't live on the coast so in order to see marine mammals and sea birds my parents would take me to the New England Aquarium in Boston. I have many fond memories of going there on multiple occasions. Not only did an educational place like this teach me what beautiful creatures are in this world that I never knew about, it also initiated my love for birds, penguins to be exact, and as an adult I became a biologist. If the New England Aquarium made that much of an impact on me as a child, I can imagine how much places like the SeaLife Center affect other children and adults alike, in wonderful ways. Without these resources, awareness won't be made, animals can't be learned about, marine lives will be lost, and many people will not be able to see the natural beauty of the great state of Alaska, and its one-of-a-kind ocean life.
