About this campaign

SciREN Coast is fundraising for our 2026 Networking Event, bringing educators and scientific researchers together to strengthen science education in K–12 classrooms.

When you purchase a shirt, you help raise awareness of SciREN Coast and support classroom-ready lesson plans, scientist classroom visits, and training that helps researchers communicate science more effectively.

The Scientific Research and Education Network (SciREN) began in 2013 with a shared belief that science is most powerful when it’s rooted in community. Founded by marine science graduate students at the University of North Carolina, SciREN was created to connect researchers with K–12 classrooms and inspire students through locally relevant science.

SciREN Coast Logo 3pngWhat started as a small group has grown into a multi-state network that includes teams in North Carolina, Virginia, Georgia, Alabama, and California. The SciREN Coast team is a volunteer-driven community of graduate students and young professionals dedicated to serving coastal NC and bringing science to life for the next generation.
