Share your spare awareness for Liz

This is not easy for me to share, but I want to be open about what I’m going through—not for attention, but for awareness, and because you are the people I love most.


I was recently diagnosed with Stage 5 Kidney Failure. In the coming weeks, I will begin dialysis treatments, and I am now on a journey toward receiving a kidney transplant.


It’s been overwhelming, frightening, and at times hard to fully process. There are moments where the fear and anxiety feel heavy—but even in those moments, I hold tightly to my faith in God. I truly believe He is walking with me through this, even when the path feels uncertain. This diagnosis has changed so much, so quickly. The road ahead will be long, filled with treatments, appointments, and challenges I never imagined facing. But I am determined to keep going.


I keep going because of my children. They are my heart, my purpose, and my reason to fight every single day. I want to be here for them—to love them, guide them, and watch them grow. They are the reason I choose strength, even on the hardest days. My love for them is what carries me forward. My journey with diabetes actually began during my first pregnancy. While this disease has taken a serious toll on my body and can lead to devastating, long-term effects, I want to say this with all my heart—I would not change a single thing if it meant not having my three beautiful children. They are my greatest blessing.


And to my husband—my partner of 17 years—you are my rock. Your love, your strength, and your unwavering support mean more to me than I could ever put into words. I am so grateful to walk through this life with you, even in its most difficult moments.


I also want to take a moment to say thank you—to my family and closest friends who have already surrounded me with love, prayers, and support. You have lifted me up more than you know, and I carry that strength with me every day.


If there’s one thing I hope to bring from sharing this, it’s awareness. Diabetes is a serious disease that can take a heavy toll on the body and lead to life-altering complications like the ones I am facing now. Please take care of your health, stay on top of your checkups, and don’t ignore the warning signs. If my story can help even one person take action sooner, then sharing this is worth it.


I don’t know exactly what the future holds, but I do know this: I trust God. I trust His plan, even when I don’t understand it. And I will keep fighting—with faith, with love, and with hope.
