Sickle Cell Kidd Advocates Awareness and Wellness through the Arts

I am an author , illustrator, SCD life coach, wellness trainer for the sickle cell community and a mother of an adult son who has sickle cell and adult son and teenage daughter who carry the sickle cell trait. My son had a stroke when he turned 18 and it made everything so real for me although I been dealing with his condition since I found out when he was three days old. I dealt with many obstacles, assumptions, discrimination, judgement, unfair treatment, uneducated educators and so much more and was tired of explaining what sickle cell was in a negative circumstance. So being an artist and natural creative person I began to form a vision of how to teach others and help those with sickle cell. I used all of my talents and began creating different products, plans, which launched our platform. With www.sicklecellkidd.com we are creating a foundation for the SCD community.
