About this campaign

Throughout the year we try and do a few t-shirt designs. Proceeds from these sales go towards funding our grants which are used to assist those suffering from SMAS. Superior Mesenteric Artery Syndrome is a rare gastrointestinal syndrome that makes it difficult for patients to eat or drink. SMAS patients need to travel to specialty hospitals since this is such a rare syndrome and many cannot afford the cost of travel. The SMAS nonprofit assists with travel costs and medical bills. PLEASE BE AWARE THAT SHIRTS WILL NOT BE PRINTED UNTIL THE CAMPAIGN ENDS. YOUR CARD WILL BE REFUNDED IF MINIMUM OF 10 IS NOT MET.

The SMAS nonprofit was founded to assist those fighting superior mesenteric artery syndrome. SMAS is when the superior mesenteric artery compresses the third portion of the duodenum when the mesenteric fat pad is lost. Many people cannot regain this fat pad through feeding tubes and a high calorie intake so they end up requiring surgery. Because SMAS is rare, treatment is typically required by research hospitals. Many SMAS patients are unable to work because of the severe pain of their intestines being crushed. THe nonprofit helps SMAS patients with travel costs to hospitals, medical bill reimbursement, and other medical related expenses. The t-shirt sales help the nonprofit raise awareness for SMAS, but also help us continue to fund grants to assist those with SMAS. If you are unable to purchase one, please share the link and ask your friends to consider helping out our small nonprofit.
