About this campaign
Fire and Rescue's former Chief and Founder, Don Sutton, with the assistance and generosity of the Ritz family, established a scholarship fund for the benefit of students actively involved with Fire and Rescue at Saint Michael's College. The fund was established in 1989 and through contributions from our Alumni and continued support from the Ritz's, it is currently one of several endowed scholarship funds at Saint Michael's College. The first awards were given in 1992/1993 and annually since then. The intent of this scholarship is to ease the financial burden of attending Saint Michael's for students who volunteer their time to serve others. The criteria for eligibility are active membership in either unit of Fire and Rescue, good academic standing with the college, and financial need as determined by the Financial Aid Office.
