About this campaign
The DC Coalition Against Domestic Violence is celebrating 40 years of dedication to building a community where domestic violence is replaced with human dignity. We're excited to launch a special logo to recognize these four decades in our Spread Love DC 2026 campaign.
Spread Love DC shirts are a great way to spark conversations with your network of family, friends, and community members about healthy relationships and ways to join the movement to end violence. Through September 9, you can order DCCADV’s Spread Love DC T-shirts to wear during the kick-off of DVAM (October 1), on Purple Thursday (October 22), or anytime during the month.
The campaign will be open until September 9, directly supporting the Coalition's work to uplift survivors throughout the DC area. Order your shirts now to spread awareness and support!
We are a resource for the thousands of adults and children experiencing domestic violence in the District each year, as well as the local organizations that serve them.
Currently in DC:
-41% of women and 21% of men in DC have experienced domestic violence in their
lifetimes.
-Over 50% of homeless families in DC cite domestic violence as a key factor in their
situation.
-10% of all homicides in DC are linked to domestic violence annually.
These are not just statistics. They are our neighbors, co-workers, friends, and family members.
What we do:
Policy & Advocacy – Securing critical local and federal government funding, legal
protections, and systemic improvements for survivors.
Training & Prevention – Educating service providers, schools, medical professionals,
and businesses.
Community Engagement – Raising awareness through research and outreach.
Survivor Leadership – Amplifying survivor voices in shaping policy and programs.
