Street Cat Hub provides a variety of services; they strive to provide FREE spay and neuter of free roaming, unowned cats, or cats that are rescued from the street. Medical care beyond spay and neuter is funded only through donations. They provide additional medical care for street cats as they are able and strive to maintain the best health possible in unowned cats. Street Cat Hub is dedicated to improving the lives of New Mexico’s cat population. The main focus is feral cat/colony population control using a humane alternative to euthanasia - TNR (trap, neuter & return), an eventual solution to the overpopulation of feral cats. Medical care for these cats is essential to their health and well-being once they are trapped for sterilization and then released. You may be wondering why "EAR TIPS ARE COOL." When a cat is sterilized through the TNR program, they receive a tipped (or clipped) ear. The tipped ear is a universal tag used as a way to indicate whether a stray or feral cat has been sterilized. This indicator assures neighbors that a cat won't be reproducing – in case they think they should trap the cat or call animal control. If the cat is trapped and turned into animal control, Street Cat Hub is notified, and they will retrieve the cat and return it to its home location. This aspect of the program is cool!
