Team Holly

This past December doctors found a 25 lb cancerous tumor engulfing Holly's kidney. She had surgery to remove them both, the tumor and the kidney, which in turn caused many other complications. Part of the tumor broke off and went up through her heart and into her lungs, causing her to have to have open heart surgery. During these two procedures, she had to have two complete blood transfusions. It was very touch and go and we were told that her body had been through so much that she would most likely not survive the night. Not long after she began bleeding internally and one of her lungs filled with fluid. She had a third and fourth procedure done to correct both of these issues. Through the grace of the good Lord and after 15 days in the hospital, I am happy to say she got to go home. It was a miracle to say the least! She has now started a very strong inpatient chemo once every three weeks. They call it the "Devil's Bag" and is supposed to make her deathly ill, but so far she is handling it like a champ! Please continue to keep her on your prayer list and in your thoughts. I truly believe that all of the prayers she continuously receives is what is giving her the strength to fight.

Update:  Holly is now about to start her 5/6 chemo treatment.  It has definitely taken a toll on her body.  She is staying positive, but tends to feel very weak and sick most of the time.  Doctors say that everything is shrinking and looking good - so we are staying positive.  Holly has recently needed quite a few blood transfusions and platelets.  Her immune system is close to nothing so she is constantly being monitored, most of the time as an inpatient in the hospital full time.  The prayers are continually appreciated!
