Support Summer's Fight Against Leukemia!

Summer Swaney is a bright, brave, and loving young woman who has already faced more challenges than most. Diagnosed with Down syndrome and a congenital heart defect, Summer has always shown incredible strength and resilience. She loves music, Disney Villains, Stranger Things, the Twilight Series, the color red, Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups, horror movies, and, most of all, her family and friends. Her joyful spirit and courage inspire everyone who knows her.

Just after Christmas, Summer began feeling unwell and, after a series of tests, was diagnosed with leukemia. She was quickly admitted to the hospital in Toledo and then transferred to the Cleveland Clinic, where she is now receiving excellent care. The diagnosis has turned her family’s world upside down. Her parents, Anna and Bryan, have put everything on hold to be by her side 24/7, 2.5 hours from home, as she undergoes chemotherapy and other treatments. They are unable to work during this time, and while they are grateful for the support of the Ronald McDonald House, the financial strain of medical bills, travel, and maintaining their home in Toledo is overwhelming.

Summer’s journey will be a long one, with at least eight months of treatment ahead. Anna and Bryan are doing everything they can to support her, but they need help. Your support will allow them to focus on what matters most: helping Summer fight leukemia with the love and care she deserves.
