About this campaign
Plant Kindness. Watch It Grow.
Our Community Kindness Gardens are growing — and we need your help to keep them blooming.
What started as one garden at the Boyne District Library has become a movement. We've since built gardens at Inspiring Inner Growth Yoga in Petoskey and partnered with North Central Michigan College for a 988 Day rock-painting event where the campus community built their own garden.
Our next garden is coming to Boyne City High School this fall — and it's being built by the students themselves. Drafting students are designing it. Wood shop students are constructing it. When it's finished, it will stand right in the entryway, greeting every student who walks through those doors with messages of hope.
Every shirt you buy contributes to our kindness movement:
- Building the student-built BCHS indoor garden
- Rock painting supplies for community events
- Upkeep and care of all our existing gardens
- Community outreach that brings neighbors, kids, and families together
- Meetups and Annual Events
Wear it. Share it. Grow it.

Our Story
Surf the Earth Mental Health Community is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit based in Boyne City, Michigan, started in honor of Ali Patrick. Her kindness ripples onward through everything we do.
We work to break the stigma of mental illness and build a community where no one walks through hard times alone — through MindAligned Meetups, Shred the Stigma ANNUAL EVENT, rock-painting events, and the Community Kindness Gardens growing across Northern Michigan.
Thank you for being part of the story.
Be kind. Be mindful. Be you.
