As a member ofAmerican Veterans for Equal Rights (AVER), Inc, a non-profit association of active, reserve and veteran service members, we are dedicated to full and equal rights and equitable treatment for all present and former members of the U.S. Armed Forces.

We work to address the needs of LGBT service members and the veteran community by collaborating with other Veterans Organizations and LGBT Groups, offering events for camaraderie and holding regular meetings to continuously improve our methods and refocus our efforts in serving our Armed Forces personnel.

· Advocacy: By partnering with local elected officials and political organizations, SVV has been active in progressing Veterans issues. We have co-sponsored bills, provided testimony for legislation, and lobbied Politicians directly regarding Veterans rights and benefits.

· Outreach: By providing Color Guard in parades and events, volunteering at Stand Downs throughout the Sacramento region, and holding a bi-weekly Veterans Service Clinic to directly address individual needs.
