About this campaign
I’m serving on the Executive Leadership Committee for the Kansas City Light The Night Walk in 2026 & this is the first of many fundraisers for my team, The Nerd Herd. This year’s event will take place on October 24th and supports Blood Cancer United (formerly the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society), an organization dedicated to funding lifesaving research, advancing advocacy, and providing critical support services for patients and families impacted by blood cancers.
Light The Night is an incredibly powerful event—bringing together survivors, caregivers, and supporters for an evening that honors lives touched by blood cancer while raising essential funds to move the mission forward.

As an AML survivor, a former clinician who has cared for cancer patients, and now someone working in the pharmaceutical and oncology diagnostics space, this cause is profoundly personal to me. I’ve seen firsthand the real, tangible impact this organization has on patients and their families.
To ensure that all funds raised through t-shirt sales are credited directly to our team for this event, proceeds will be collected by me and then transferred to our team account. Unfortunately, using the verified charity link would route donations to Blood Cancer United as a general contribution, rather than attributing them to our team. And, as I have set a personal goal of raising $50,000 by the event in October, I would like to make sure all of the money we raise is properly attributed to The Nerd Herd! :)
