Team Ohana in support of childhood cancer cures with Alex's Lemonade Stand

For Lauren's 8th birthday (November 22, 2020), she asked if her friends and family could support this organization in lieu of gifts.
Lauren began getting sick late 2019 in what we thought might be asthma, and then pneumonia in 2020. She was officially diagnosed with Ewing's extraosseous sarcoma in June of 2020 after finding a bump near her spine that a biopsy revealed the disease, and an MRI found the lung tumors. She recently had surgery in September to remove multiple tumors from her lung and had a lower lobectomy of her left lung. Chemotherapy will be ongoing until next year and radiation of her spine is currently underway. Last month she began designing this t-shirt while at Walter Reed during her chemo treatments to raise money for a good cause. She is passionate about helping other kids that are sick, and loves to cheer them up by making cards, crafts or making them happy in any way that she can think of. This shirt is an extension of that love and helping in a much bigger way. As a family, we hope to keep healing prayers going for our sweet and big hearted girl that loves the ocean. Her dream is to someday visit Hawaii and to grow up to be a nurse. Ohana is Hawaiian for family, and we are one big family. In Lauren’s words,” Just like all the different creatures of the oceans live together in the sea, so do we as a family all made by our Creator.
