About this campaign

This fundraiser is aimed at at raising money to support two of the places/organizations that mean a great deal to our family in regards to our Journey in "Loving Logan".
Logan was diagnosed soon after birth with Noonan Syndrome, and one of the leading organizations that helps spread awareness and helps fund research is The RASopathies Network. The other half of the proceeds will go Boston Childrens Hospital Cardiac Surgery Unit. We will be purchasing toys for the post open heart chest tube removal room (which give toys to the kiddos who are having drainage tubes removed post surgery, as well as crafts and toys for the game room on the recovery floor.

Logan was born in 2013, soon after his birth he was diagnosed with a genetic condition, Noonan Syndrome. Noonan Syndrome is a genetic condition that affects 1:1000-1:2500. It commonly causes heart defects, short stature, facial characteristic, slow growth, poor feeding, vision and hearing issues, bleeding conditions and a myriad of other potential defects. For those next few months we adapted to the new normal of regular specialist doctors visits to check his heart, eyes, ears, and and countless other things. By 6 months old although we thought we had heard and seen it all, we were hit with another blow, receiving the scariest of news with a diagnosis of Juvenile myelomonocytic leukemia (JMML) the next 2 year seems like a foggy blur as we amped up an already full medical calendar with even more appoints and the fears and worries mounted. At 2 years old we got the call that we had prayed and begged for, Logan was cancer free. What a blessing this was to our family. However with Logan we know we are always just around the corner from another curve ball. Just before we set out for a family vacation to celebrate his health we received a call that they found a tumor near his spine during a chest x-ray. Thankfully the tumor proved to be benign after another round of multple ct scans MRI's and ultimately a needle biopsy of the tumor near his spine/heart. To this day the tumor has stayed in the same spot and has not grown at all. Just prior to Logan's 5th birthday we made decision to proceed with Open Heart Surgery to repair his ASD (hole in his atrial chamber) and a PDA (smaller hole between 2 blood vessels in the heart). The blessing of living in Massachusetts has been with every step we have been blessed to be around the WORLDS greatest doctors. Boston Children's Hospital was amazing and did every thing they could to help make a gut wrenching experience much more comfortable. They worked tirelessly to make Logan as pain free and happy as possible. Logan current battles are a mix of education and memory delays and at 8 years-old he is constantly asked if he is his 5 year-old sisters twin. however he remains one of the sweetest and funniest kids I know. He continues to take each trial like a champion and has been incredibly brave and resilient.

My beautiful daughter Ashley has Congenital Heart disease. We didn’t find out till she was 21. She had to have a stent put in her Aorta bc it was 40% blocked. We need more awareness. This should have been detected at birth. Also Logan is so sweet!
