Mighty Mia came into our life and changed everything!
She was abandoned in the NICU at 2 days old and OKDHS was unable to find a family to care for her. We found out that she had been moved to a children's center and put on morphine to pass away and we quickly got involved and determined to bring her to our home to pass away in a loving family environment. God had another plan and quickly got us approved to adopt her which allowed for her to be eligible to receive the much needed heart transplant. She lived in St. Louis for three months with me, her foster mom at the time, until she received "The Gift". We were able to bring her home shortly after and had an amazing life, not without struggles, but I would do it all over again to have more time with her!
Although we only had seven and a half years with her she made her mark on each of us who knew her.
