Blackie was rescued from death row near death. He had open wounds with maggots dripping off his body. Blackie has several cancerous masses and heartworms. He under went emergency surgery to remove his spleen and a cancerous mass that had ruptured. Blackie was neglected all his life and when he needed his humans the most, they dumped him at a high kill pound and never looked back. We can't imagine what kept Blackie alive during all those years of neglect. Even after all he has been through he harbors no grudges. Everyone he meets is a new friend.
