Kara's Story:
Kara Crawford is a 34-year-old mother and a loving wife, daughter, sister, friend, and much more. She has an infectiously outgoing and kindhearted personality, and she adores her job as a lead teacher at a local child development center.  Those who know Kara personally will tell you that she loves her family and friends dearly and that she spends most of her time worrying about the needs of others.  In March of 2014, Kara's life quickly and unexpectedly changed following some routine dental work. Shortly after having her wisdom teeth extracted, Kara experienced painful swelling in her gums.  At the advice of her dentist, she had some blood work performed to identify the cause.  After just hours of testing, Kara received results that no one expected or wanted to hear - cancer.  After more testing, consults, and high emotions, Kara was diagnosed, at just 34 years of age, with Acute Myeloid Leukemia.  Though the results were devastating, Kara is a fighter and she will win the battle against leukemia.  She is currently receiving chemotherapy treatments at Emory Hospital in Atlanta, Georgia.
