About this campaign

Nearly every Search and Rescue mission begins with someone waiting and worrying. A family member who didn’t come home from a hike. A child who has gone missing. An at-risk adult who has wandered away. An injured person somewhere beyond the reach of a road or ambulance. In those moments, families are counting on trained Search and Rescue volunteers to respond, work together, and bring their loved one home.

That kind of readiness does not happen by accident. It comes from training, preparation, teamwork, and the opportunity to practice before the real call comes in. The 2026 SCCSSAR Mock Search, taking place October 23–25, 2026, at Henry W. Coe State Park, brings Search and Rescue volunteers together for a multi-day, realistic training event in challenging terrain. Participating teams will work side by side through complex scenarios, strengthen mutual-aid relationships, and practice the skills needed to search for, locate, treat, and rescue people when every decision matters.

Creating a realistic event of this size requires significant resources. Training materials, scenario supplies, communications support, equipment, logistics, facilities, safety needs, and many other expenses all contribute to making the weekend meaningful and effective. We created this fundraiser to help offset those costs and support the volunteers who dedicate their time to preparing for emergencies in our communities.

When you purchase a 2026 “Coe Triangle” T-shirt or hoodie, you are doing more than buying a piece of event apparel. You are helping make realistic, hands-on Search and Rescue training possible. You are helping volunteers prepare for the next overdue hiker, the next missing child, the next at-risk adult, or the next injured person waiting for help in a remote location.

Because when the real call comes, preparation matters—and someone is waiting for us to bring their loved one home
