About this campaign

The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society is the largest nonprofit health organization dedicated in the fight against blood cancers. The Man and Woman of the Year campaign is a 10-week long friendly competition to see which candidate can raise the most money to benefit the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society (LLS).

For employees of The James, these shirts have been approved by nursing leadership to be worn every Friday until the Grand Finale on June 10th.





Having been an acute leukemia nurse for four years and now taking care of those with chronic lymphocytic leukemia and lymphoma, I have seen first hand the impact the LLS has. In addition to funding research, LLS provides education materials, medication assistance to make life-saving therapies affordable, and support groups for patients and caregivers.

We all know someone who has been affected by cancer in some way. Of the 40 FDA approved medications for cancer, 24 (over half!!) came from initial research in blood cancers. Those 24 medications now help those with lung, breast, and prostate cancer, just to name a few.
