About this campaign
April is Second Chance Month and for a limited time, we’re selling t-shirts to help raise awareness of the importance of second chances for those impacted by the criminal legal system.
More than fifty years ago, the United States embarked on a path of mass incarceration that has led to a staggering increase in the prison population. Today, almost 2 million individuals – disproportionately Black Americans – are incarcerated in our nation’s prisons and jails.

As a society we need to look for ways to promote restorative rather than punitive justice. More diversion programs are needed for youth. It’s also important to keep the scales of justice balanced when it comes to race and ethnicity.
Mass incarceration diverts valuable resources away from other essential societal needs.
Oklahoma and all of the U.S. have gravely incarcerated too many people and with extremely long sentences. This has to stop.
