About this campaign

The Wall That Heals exhibit honors the more than three million Americans who served in the U.S. Armed Forces in the Vietnam War, and it bears the names of the 58,281 men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice in Vietnam.

The Wall The Heals is a three-quarter scale replica of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Washington, D.C., designed to travel to communities throughout the United States. Since its dedication, The Wall That Heals has been displayed at nearly 600 communities throughout the nation, spreading the Memorial’s healing legacy to millions. Bringing The Wall home to communities throughout our country allows the souls enshrined on the Memorial to exist once more among family and friends in the peace and comfort of familiar surroundings. The traveling exhibit provides thousands of veterans who have been unable to cope with the prospect of facing The Wall to find the strength and courage to do so within their own communities, thus allowing the healing process to begin.

In remembrance of CPT E. Greene, CPT R. Young, and LTC Tyrice Fuller: For those whose futures were left upon this wall, and those who spent a lifetime staving off the stone. For the slow release of more than memories, and the war they carried home.

Hawaii Army National Guard's 29th Infantry Brigade was mobilized for Vietnam on May 13, 1968. 29 Soldiers made the ultimate sacrifice to their country and are memorialized on an Honor Roll Pohaku (rock) in front of the headquarters in Kalaeloa.

My 2 uncles served in the military & went to Vietnam, when I was in elementary school - me&brother & sisters sent them cards & prayed for them every day until they came back home to Hawaii & we’re back in our lives again. We were very proud of them.

Honoring our fallen veterans. Thank you for the opportunity to help at the information center. It was valuable experience and heartfelt to hear shared stories from returned veterans. May the wall heals us all!
