About this campaign

The WyND Program is a unique dance option offering a rigorous commitment to the development of the pre-professional dancer. Spending 15-20 hours per week in the studio, our dancers will be inspired to achieve their fullest potential, while developing their own personal voice in an environment that immerses each artist in the professional facility and community at WhirlWind Dance.

Our History

The WhirlWind was founded in 2021 by Joshua Manculich, a Princess Grace Award Winner and former dancer with Thodos Dance Chicago. In order to build an artistic base for movement during the height of the pandemic, Whirlwind produced a “Let Us Move and Be Moved,” at an outdoor venue in Houston, TX. Quickly, the whirlwind gained momentum and filled bi-annual workshops. In 2022, the WhirlWind moved to Columbus, Ohio and became a non-profit organization in May. Most recently, the company has expanded beyond the national summer residency geared toward the celebration of dedicated talent and drive, and has also established an annual performance fundraiser event for other non-profits organization, an annual curated event showcasing the creativity of local dance makers, and recognizes the importance of a pre-professional youth company experience. The WyND Program, the official youth company of WhirlWind Dance will hold its first season in 2023-2024.
