About this campaign

***The t shirt costs have increased due to our use of better quality products.
As a way to promote peace of heart and mind, help children come to terms with their health situation, and ease their frightful thoughts Paige is in the mist of writing a tell- all book titled Embrace Your Cape. This book will prepare children for the uncertain journey ahead with insightful knowledge on what to expect as well as what not to expect. Embrace Your Cape will unveil the thoughts, feelings, emotions , and faith Paige experienced throughout her journey. A glimpse in the transition of a child’s mental state from meeting the doctors to waking up from anesthesia, this book brings insight and comfort to all its readers.

About Paige Sullivan

Paige was born June 15, 2007 to Racine McCullough and Nicholas Sullivan. Six months after birth, Paige developed a cough and was taken to the doctor for chest x-rays. The doctor’s examination found a deformity thought to be an enlarged heart, but further tests proved that to be incorrect. The results turned out to be a rare heart defect, a condition the doctor’s refer to as Anomalous Origin of the left Coronary Artery. This meant that Paige was not born with a left coronary artery but had two right coronary arteries. With this condition she was at risk of cardiac arrest at any moment. Therefore, the only treatment at that time was an open heart surgery which took place June 2, 2016 at Duke Children’s Hospital in Durham, North Carolina. The Pediatric Chief Surgeon at Duke said out of 20+ years of practice none of the surgeons under his leadership has ever operated on a condition such as Paige. Through prayers and God's merciful work this surgery, although intense, was successful. She is left with a beautiful battle scar. Her heart is very rare because she still has two right coronary arteries, but will live a normal life with no chance of a heart attack. Now she can tell her story about how she has a one of a kind heart made for a blessed little girl. Paige is such a joy to be around with her inspiring spirit, heartwarming attitude, and bravery. Her courage, strength, and faith are something to be greatly admired. Paige enjoys dancing, acting, reading and writing. She is co-founder of an organization called The Heart of Paige and is currently writing a children’s book called, Embrace Your Cape.
