Stewart Family Adoption T-Shirt

Our adoption journey has been a wild ride, and it's not over yet. We're sad to share with you that the baby girl we thought we would be bringing home this past week did not come home with us after all. For those who don't know, there is a 48 hour waiting period before a birth mom can fully relinquish her rights, and our birth mom decided at the end of that time that she wanted to parent her baby. We are obviously heartbroken over this, but we know the Lord is good and are trusting his provision and faithfulness even as we grieve. We are now considered a "waiting family" with our adoption agency, and are hopeful that sometime soon we will get a call about another baby.

Typically, domestic infant adoption costs anywhere between $30,000 to $40,000, including the home study, counseling for potential birth parents and adoptive parents, medical expenses, and foster care, if needed. We are really thankful to say that our agency provides amazing services for birth parents and adoptive parents. Our estimated adoption costs will be around $35,000 ... not to mention all of the baby stuff (car seat, formula, clothes, diapers, etc) that we will need on top of the adoption costs.

Matthew 17:20 - Truly I tell you, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you.

This verse resonates with me so much. We've endured much loss and heartache with infertility, a miscarriage and the loss of William. HOWEVER, I feel like with the love and support of our family, friends, co-workers... our people, God shows me that this is not impossible for Him. We only need a little faith, and He will work all this pain, loss, sadness together for our good and His glory.

We have faith that God is moving the mountains ahead of us... with the small amount of faith we have, He is paving the way for our next child to join our family.

So thank you for being our people, thank you for having faith for us when we were down, and thank you for having faith with us through this adoption. With the mustard see of faith we have, we know that God can move the financial mountain ahead of us.
