About this campaign

ThinkTaylor has partnered up with the MIAA for the 1st ever Massachusetts Concussion Awareness Week. During the week of September 21-25, 2015, all Massachusetts High School Soccer players will be raising awareness for concussion safety during their matches.

We are asking players, coaches, parents, officials, MIAA and YOU to JOIN THE MOVEMENT! During the week, we are asking you to take the #TTpledge...and let everyone know!

The most creative, crazy, outlandishly awesome, marvelous, inspiring showcase of school support for ThinkTaylor's mission of raising concussion awareness will win an incredible prize from Inaria. The winning school will receive custom outfitted 2016 uniforms from Inaria. Other prizes will be announced at a later date.

Basically, what we're saying is, get a shirt, wear it proud and show us how amazing your school is!

We cannot wait to see how inspiring you all are.

- Taylor Twellman & the ThinkTaylor Team

Taylor Twellman, former five-time Major League Soccer all-star, retired from professional soccer in 2010, due to complications from multiple concussions. While suffering five documented concussions throughout his professional playing career, on August 31, 2008, Taylor suffered a concussion that many believe ended his storied career. As Taylor later realized, this brain injury was far more than a career-ending injury, rather, it was a life-changing event.

For over seven years, Taylor has suffered from the effects and symptoms of post-concussion syndrome (“PCS”). Taylor’s injury has profoundly affected his family as well. Initially, the Twellman family struggled to understand Taylor’s concussion. His injury was invisible to them and there was no easy, tangible “fix.” Eventually, Taylor’s family recognized the seriousness of this brain injury and the need to support other athletes and their families.

Inspired to make a difference in the world of concussions, Taylor founded ThinkTaylor, a foundation that is driven and dedicated to changing the culture in the world of concussions. ThinkTaylor’s positive message emphasizing awareness, education and putting the health of kids first will create positive social change and in return a safer, healthier and smarter environment.
