About this campaign

We put hours of work into researching and designing This Body’s tank top. The swirl of actions come directly from the This Body community and represents some of what our bodies do. The $25 accounts for our labor and production costs, and builds funds to fully realize our fall 2020 performance programming.

This Body was founded when a group of friends realized just how hard it is to make art as individuals in New York City. Between jobs to pay rent, filling out endless applications for grants and projects, there is no time left for rehearsals. Hoping to end this constant competition for a small slice of resources, this group of friends decided to band together to help one another, divvy up some of the tasks, and perhaps pick up some community members along the way. This Body decided to create their own community and hopefully change the entire concept around creating art. By purchasing a tank top today, you will contribute to making queer performance and artists without a network find that supportive community to create their work.
