Harrison Legacy Lives On
– P.A. Dumas
Through the grace and mercy of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, the 200-plus-year Harrison legacy continues to thrive. The tapestry of the Harrison family is woven from a rich and diverse heritage that includes, but is not limited to, African, Native American, Hispanic, Caucasian, and African American ancestry, as well as both enslaved and free ancestors whose strength and perseverance paved the way for us to rise, overcome, and succeed.
From classrooms to communities, churches to careers, the Harrison family has produced educators, chaplains, servicemen and servicewomen in every branch of the military, counselors, entrepreneurs, automotive industry professionals, lawyers, doctors, nurses, athletes, entertainers, cowboys, ranchers, cosmetologists, barbers, blue- and white-collar professionals, homemakers, politicians, inventors, computer technologists, philanthropists, artists, musicians, actors, chefs, and dedicated volunteers. We are still growing, still rising, and still redefining the odds every day.
To be a Harrison is to be a survivor, an overcomer, and a natural-born leader. It is through the lineage of John Ernest Harrison Sr. and Phyllis Ann Harrison that we are all here today.
Their children became our parents, aunts, and uncles—laying the foundation for each generation that followed.
That is why it is so important for us to come Together Again as we go Back to Our Roots—to celebrate our enduring 200-plus-year family legacy: past, present, and future.
By uniting and honoring our shared heritage, we strengthen our family bonds, preserve our history, and ensure that the Harrison legacy continues to thrive for generations to come.
