About this campaign

We are celebrating Tomasina's, 25th year here at Roaring Brook Nature Center. The funds raised will be used for her favorite things: rats, chicken, steak, toys and paper bags for her lunches.

The campaign will run until October 23. Shirts will ship a week or so after that. Short-sleeved shirts are $25 plus shipping; long-sleeved shirts are $30 plus shipping. And you can add a little extra if you'd like to!

Tomasina, our resident Turkey Vulture came to us as an adult in 2001 after being hit by a car. Her left wing was so badly damaged that she lost part of it below the elbow, leaving her non-flighted and non-releasable.

Roaring Brook Nature Center’s staff and volunteers have been lucky enough to care for Tomasina all these years, and she has certainly made herself at home. Full of personality and spunk, she has introduced countless visitors to the fascinating world of vultures and helped teach generations of people about the vital role these often-misunderstood birds play in our ecosystem.

To celebrate our Grand Matriarch, we’ve created a special 25th Anniversary Tomasina T-shirt! The funds raised will go toward some of her favorite things: rats, chicken, steak, toys, and paper bags for her lunches.
