UMaine Dairy Challenge National Contest Fundraiser

About this campaign

The UMaine Dairy Challenge team is raising money for our upcoming trip to Lansing, Michigan in spring of 2027! Dairy Challenge is a unique opportunity for undergraduate students interested in pursuing a career in dairy science. The UMaine team meets weekly throughout the year to discuss different techniques in evaluating different aspects of a dairy farm. At the National contest, students evaluate real farm data from financials to nutrition to cow welfare to find areas where the farmer could improve their operation. After proposing different recommendations, students create a presentation to prepare to a panel of judges including the farmer. Dairy Challenge helps students get a better understanding of the large scale dairy industry and provides insight on how to make a farm as effective as possible. We appreciate your support in helping us get to Lansing, Michigan!
