UWF Scuba Club

About this campaign

Our Why: Less than 1% of the U.S population are active Scuba Divers. Yet our planet is made up of 71% water of which only 5% has been explored. At UWF one of our key values is innovation and to enhance learning and through transformative experiences. Our club lives by this value by being able to provide students, faculty, and staff with the transformative experience of exploring the underwater world. Unfortunately, we cannot continue to do this without your help. The financial burden of the certification cost is the driving factor that leads well-qualified and brilliant students not to pursue SCUBA diving and the many professional careers it can lead to. We have started a fund for students to apply to that would grant them the ability to achieve this certification at a fraction or zero cost. Not only will your donation grant these students this experience but you will be donating knowing the funds are going towards fostering unique learning experiences and providing opportunities for students who otherwise would not receive them.
