About this campaign

Safe sidewalks around the historic Carter G. Woodson Elementary building
Sidewalks connecting the new pavilion to community spaces
Parking bollards to improve safety and accessibility
Gravel for parking and event areas

Nestled in the heart of Oklahoma, Tullahassee is more than a town—it is a living testament to resilience, education, and community pride. Founded in the late 19th century and recognized as one of Oklahoma's historic all-Black towns, Tullahassee has long stood as a symbol of determination and opportunity.

For generations, families gathered around the historic Carter G. Woodson Elementary School, a school that served as a beacon of learning, hope, and achievement. The halls echoed with the dreams of students who would carry the values of education and community into the world. Although the school closed its doors in 1990, its legacy continues to inspire those who call Tullahassee home.

Today, the community is working to preserve that legacy while creating a safer and more welcoming environment for future generations. A new pavilion now stands as a gathering place where families, alumni, visitors, and residents can celebrate the town's rich heritage.
