About this campaign

Women in Business Leadership has a mission to empower, engage, connect, and promote women. However, with the current climate of our world, we felt the dyer the need to extend our mission. This is when we reached out to the Women's Fund of Central Ohio, who works fiercely towards igniting social change for gender equality from direct grants to extensive research.

There are hundreds of women-owned businesses in the state of Ohio that are in need. These women have not only had to overcome hardships based on gender inequality, but also due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The funding raised will be distributed in grants to businesses in need. This is in addition to research like that have been conducted recently on the gender and racial wealth gap - WFCO being the first organization to study this data locally in the state of Ohio.

In regards to Women in Business Leadership, we plan on using our funding towards developing an empowering women's conference on campus where a diverse group of women-based organizations can collaborate to bring in speakers to empower the students of Bowling Green State University. From development to execution, this funding will allow the experience of a lifetime for women and men on campus.

Overview: Seven years in the making, Women in Business Leadership (WBL) provides students a forum for educating, engaging, connecting, and promoting women to be successful in a personal and professional setting. We do this through bi-weekly meetings with intriguing speakers, a yearly leadership conference, a growing mentorship program, partnerships with other organizations, company tours, and social events. Our overall mission is to bridge the gap in the business field between understanding and empowerment for females. By tackling these topics now, individuals will enter the workplace with a progressive mindset, ready to bring equality and empowerment to the business floor.

Our organization is open to and encourages men as well as women to join the organization to be able to give different perspectives on topics and experiences. Being understanding of all walks of life builds not only character, but emotional intelligence that can be translated into any field of work.

Vision:
A future where gender equality is the norm in life and work.

Mission:
The Women’s Fund of Central Ohio is a public foundation whose mission is to transform the lives of women and girls by mobilizing the collective power and passion of all people working together.

Value Statement:
Our work is informed by these values:

We believe that positive social change will come about only when barriers of gender, class, ethnicity, race, educational background, sexual orientation, gender identity, economic status, and faith traditions are overcome. Participation at the broadest level is the beacon of our work.

Enduring progress will be made by focusing on assets unique to the lives and work of women and girls. We strive to create a climate of empowerment in a community where many voices can contribute to the shaping of will and attitudes.

In our society, gender powerfully affects experience and opportunity. Through collaborations, The Women’s Fund of Central Ohio will honor traditional attributes of women and girls and at the same time pave new paths. All voices will be heard including those outside the mainstream to those silent voices within the mainstream.
