Alaska Tilth "We Give a Crop" T-Shirt Fundraiser

WHAT IS TILTH? Tilth is defined as the quality of healthy soil, and is the name by which farmer-consumer collaborations throughout the Pacific Northwest have titled their work pertaining to food justice and resilience. Alaska Tilth’s mission is to build food security in Alaska by growing food, growing farmers, and feeding those in need. We work to cultivate a robust, equitable and self-reliant local food system.
Alaska Tilth gathers a community of organizational collaborators to serve the most food insecure members of the community and develop regional food resilience. To achieve this goal, we work with a number of nonprofits and stakeholders. To date, we have distributed over 4,300 pounds of fresh produce as well as nutritional information to over 700 participants in the region.

Alaska Tilth depends on community support to continue its important work combating hunger and strengthening the Alaskan food system. The financial contribution of individual donors puts our food into the hands of more families in need, and provides the opportunity to train more new growers in agriculture rooted in sustainability and service.

At present, 95% of all food purchased in Alaska is produced out of state for a yearly cost of $1.9 billion annually.

Donations to Alaska Tilth are leveraged to support new farmers, and empower people with the tools to eat locally, and seasonally, which can capture a greater percentage of those sales while creating jobs and preserving our agricultural heritage.
