About this campaign

Our Kwanzaa Thinking and Doing Day is about celebrating the seven principles we practice ALL YEAR LONG! And this Pansy Garden T-shirt celebrates Kuumba (Creativity), the sixth principle of Kwanzaa, which encourages us to use our creativity to leave our community more beautiful and beneficial than we inherited it.
When you buy this shirt you're supporting our FREE December 27 Kwanzaa celebration and community dinner, while also contributing to the future Pansy Garden at the Sterling Street Sanctuary and Nature Reserve.

Everyone who buys a shirt will have their name displayed on our 2026 Kwanzaa Banner!

This shirt is part of our regular Kwanzaa fundraiser, separate from our special $100 Pansy Garden fundraising collection.

Kwanzaa reminds us of the African and Afrocentric principles that help us build strong, loving communities. Every December 27, we gather to celebrate what we've accomplished together!

This year, we're celebrating Kuumba (Creativity) through the imaginations of the Heads Up Hartford campers who spent a week with us in June envisioning our future Pansy Garden. Their IDEAS inspired the image on this shirt.

Kuumba asks us to leave our community more beautiful and beneficial than we inherited it.
We celebrate Kwanzaa on Kujichagulia (Self-Determination), we're also practicing our responsibility to determine what kind of community we want and then BUILD it!

Your purchase helps pay for our FREE December 27 Kwanzaa community dinner AND supports our future Pansy Garden! Everyone who buys a shirt will have their name displayed on our 2026 Kwanzaa Banner.
