About this campaign

Connor and his family are able to go to the SMA Conference in Washington D.C. in June! They are so excited! Registration fees for the conference were covered by a newly diagnosed scholarship from Families of SMA, but they still will be having to travel from Michigan to Washington DC for several days with Connor, and with the other financial burdens, it will be hard to accommodate, any help is appreciated! The rest will be donated to funding SMA research at the FSMA conference!! Help us make 2014 the "Year of the Cure!"

Connor was diagnosed with the number one genetic killer of infants, Spinal Muscular Atrophy type 1 at the age of 3.5 months old. Connor was not expected to survive passed 6 months of age.



Connor is now 17 months old and is still fighting! He is beating the odds every day! 90% of children with his diagnosis do not survive passed the age of 2 years old.

There is no cure or treatment for SMA, and that is where we need YOUR help! Help us make 2014 the Year of the Cure!

Connor and his family were granted a newly diagnosed scholarship from Families of SMA to attend their very first SMA conference. They are so excited to be able to meet other families, and can't wait for Connor to meet tons of strong little kids just like him! The scholarship covers the registration fees for the conference but the family still needs to drive from Michigan to Washington D.C. with Connor and all of his equipment. They will also need to stay for several days. Everything helps, the Smith's are so happy they have been granted this opportunity, but still have many financial obligations with a child in Connor's condition.

This fundraiser is to help the Smith's get to the FSMA conference, the rest of the monies raised will be donated to funding SMA research at the FSMA conference in June.
