About this campaign

The walk will be held on Sunday, May 19th, from 1-3pm at the Maysville High School Track. Admission is $7 for students (K-12), $10 for adults. When you buy a shirt and wear it to the walk, you get in for free! Water will be provided. Keep up to date on the walk by following the Facebook event page! Cancellations due to weather will be announced there.

During my sophomore year of high school, I began planning a suicide prevention walk called 'You Are Not Alone;' due to my past experiences with mental health issues. I wanted to spread a message of hope throughout my community to help people who were struggling with the same things I struggled with and to bring the community together to stop suicide. My initial goal was to raise $300 towards the Muskingum County Suicide Prevention Coalition in an effort to stop suicide in the county, however, my goal was blown out of the water in a very short amount of time. After all was said and done, the walk raised over $5,000, with around 500-600 people attending the walk. I was completely blown away by the outpouring support from the community, and I am excited to bring the walk back again this year.

I am an attempted suicide survivor and believe that everyone should have knowledge and support when battling depression and suicidal ideation. Kids especially need to know they are not alone.
