Introducing: The Kane Family

"My wife and I have been on a journey for many years to build a family. We are from Alaska and have always dreamed of building a family through adoption. I work in the field of child welfare and we wanted to build our family through a domestic adoption as there are many children in the United States in need of a loving home. Our journey took a wonderful turn when we were (through a very tedious and formal process) chosen as the forever family for a sibling group of three boys from Ohio. To celebrate bonding an attachment, we came up with the idea of hooded sweaters bearing a shamrock image (we are Irish) with our last name imprinted on the back. We are also wearing United States flag pins to symbolize our domestic adoption which occurred on Election Day this year (November 6, 2012).
