Restoration Day Volunteers

"In June NOAA (National Oceanic and Admospheric sdministration)employees from the DC area participated in "Restoration Day." This is a time for scientists to get out of their cubes and get wet and dirty in the mud again. NOAA volunteers spent the day doing various activities helping to clean up the Chesapeake Bay. NOAA Restoration Day is one of the largest voluntary federal employee sponsored environmental stewardship events in the Bay watershed. The Maryland event was held at the Jug Bay component of the Chesapeake Bay National Estuarine Research Reserve in Maryland. The volunteers wore bright orange shirts that were designed with safety in mind- if you saw an orange shirt, you knew they would be of help. They turned out great and everyone loved them- thanks again!" - http://restorationday.noaa.gov/ - RestorationDay2007 (Aug 15, 2007)
